Chelsea have been drawn away to Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, following their thrilling 4-3 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Wednesday night.
Chelsea Edge Wolves in Seven-Goal Thriller
The Blues booked their place in the last eight after a pulsating fourth-round encounter.
Andrey Santos opened the scoring early, before Tyrique George doubled Chelsea’s advantage. Rising star Estevao Willian added a third before half-time, giving the visitors firm control.
However, Wolves mounted a strong comeback after the break, with Tolu Arokodare and David Moller Wolfe reducing the deficit. The pressure intensified when Liam Delap was shown a red card, leaving Chelsea down to ten men.
Despite the setback, Jamie Gittens restored the two-goal cushion with a brilliant long-range strike. Wolfe’s second goal for Wolves came too late to change the outcome, sealing a 4-3 victory for Enzo Maresca’s men.
